Day 1 marked a powerful start to the Climate Innovation & Entrepreneurship Training at the Effia Kwesimintsim Municipal Assembly (EKMA).
Participants were grouped into teams and taken through a hands-on process of identifying real climate challenges affecting their communities, from environmental issues to livelihood impacts, and working together to develop practical, solution-driven ideas.

Each team presented their challenges and proposed solutions, sparking meaningful conversations and fresh perspectives in the room. It was inspiring to see ideas begin to take shape right from day one.
The session also explored sustainable business models, helping participants understand what it truly takes to build a business that not only makes profit, but also creates impact and protects the environment.
The focus was clear, building businesses that last, while doing good for people and the planet.

We also had insightful opening remarks from Dr. John Saviour Yaw Eleblu from Africa Climate Collaborative @ UG , who spoke about the importance of equipping young people with skills in green business and technology, and supporting existing businesses to transition into more climate-friendly models. He also highlighted the vision behind the program in partnership with the Mastercard foundation, and what participants can expect after the training.
